Bradenton's first production craft brewery, Motorworks Brewing, is celebrating its first year this week.
To mark the actual anniversary, the brewery at 1014 9th St. W. will be tapping Carrot Cake Birthday Brown Ale on Thursday. Inspired by founders Frank and Denise Tschida's favorite cake, this 5.5 percent alcohol beer was brewed with carrots, pecans, marshmallow, cinnamon, allspice, toasted coconut and vanilla beans.
Flights of Motorworks beers will be $5 all day and they will also be pouring their first Doppelbock.
Saturday brings the big party with Whiskey Blind playing in the beer garden starting at 7 p.m. No cover.
